Last month it was all about Mom, but now it’s Dad’s turn to take the stage. Whether your Dad’s a beer guy, a sports guy or the sensitive type there’s something in Reno to strike his fancy.

Show your pops your care with one of these Reno Father’s Day ideas.

1. Catch A Show

Reno’s got lots of great venues for taking in a show. For live music head to The Saint in Midtown. The music hall has 24 beers on tap and brings all different acts from indie to funk. This weekend catch The Funk Exchange or bluesman Nick Moss. If music isn’t your Dad’s thing check out the shows currently playing at casinos like Cirque Paris at the El Dorado, where you can watch mind-boggling acrobatics and dancers perform twist and turn in a French Cabaret themed show.

2. Take A Beer or Distillery Tour

Over the years, Reno has become home to a number of exciting craft breweries and distilleries and you don’t even have to decide between the two. You can sample through some of the area’s best pints at the Reno Brew & Bike Tour or add in some spirits on the Reno Booze Bus. If you crave a more intimate setting pay a trip to one of the facilities yourself. Tours are offered at Branded Hearts Distillery and Seven Troughs.

3. Eat Your Way Through Reno

They say the way to a man’s heart is through the stomach and we couldn’t agree more! In fact, we think the way to everyone’s heart is through the stomach. Reno has tons of delicious eats to steal your heart. Reno Food Tours are a great way to give your Dad a taste of Reno’s delectable side. Check out current tour offerings!

4. Head to the Lake

Everyone loves Lake Tahoe and there are tons of ways to celebrate Dad once your there. You can keep it easy with a beach day or plan a lakeside adventure. The Tahoe Adventure Company offers tons of excursions from kayaking tours, to bike and stand up paddleboarding.

5. Sporting Events

This year Father’s Day coincides with Adventure Sports Week Lake Tahoe. There’s tons of fun activities for Dad to get in on. Demos, clinics and races are being held around the lake. Whether you want to watch someone run a marathon or learn how to get yourself in shape for one, there’s a way to get in on the action.  At night you can catch films, games and live music.

6. Reel ‘em in

If your Dad’s the fishing type, then Pyramid Lake is the place to be. Just 45 minutes from Reno, Pyramid Lake offers world-class fishing. It’s the only place in the world where you can find Cui-Cui fish and is home to bass weighing upwards of 40 lbs! It’s time to dig out that pole and get casting!

7. Dedicate the Day

Off all the things you can do for Dad, nothing will make him as happy as getting to spend time with you! So clear your schedule. Whether you pick one of these Father’s Day activities or just hang at home playing cards and watching TV let your Dad know there’s no place you’d rather be but spending time with him.
