Fat Cat Bar and Grill
1401 S Virginia St, Reno, NV
A new edition to the Midtown neighborhood, Fat Cat Bar and Grill, in the former Morgan’s Lobster Shack space, serves up creative burgers made with grass-fed beef from Bently Ranch in Minden. The location is a sister restaurant to the Fat Cat Bar and Grill in Tahoe City. Other than the burgers, guests have been raving about the Mac ‘n Cheese.
Square One Eatery
1771 Valley Rd, Reno, NV
Square One Eatery which opened in Northwest Reno at the end of February is quickly becoming a local favorite for their friendly customer service and hearty breakfast options (i.e. chicken fried steak and pancake stacks).

Located in the Riverwalk District, Cafe Capello is a sweet coffee shop serving locally roasted coffee and a simple but well-made menu for breakfast and lunch. The exposed brick interior and welcoming patio make it a great place to enjoy a relaxing meal or grab a quick pick me up before heading to Wingfield Park. The menu includes avocado toast and frittatas served in cast iron pans.
La Mint – Vietnamese Kitchen
Joining the South Reno restaurant scene, La Mint is serving classic Vietnamese dishes. Their mission is to let people know that Vietnamese food is more than just pho. While you can still find a healthy selection of pho on their menu, you’ll also find a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes you may have never seen before, including sizzling platters and stir-fried noodle dishes.
Smee’s Alaskan Fish Bar
50 N Sierra St, Reno, NV
The long-vacant Reef Sushi on the Truckee River has finally re-opened as Smee’s Alaskan Fish Bar. Smee’s isn’t exactly a newcomer, the restaurant formerly ran a spot in the food court at Meadowood Mall. The new spot will serve the beloved fish and chips made from wild Alaskan Cod, along with salmon and shrimp items.
